DIR EN GREY: 'Agitated Screams Of Maggots' Video Posted Online

Japanese band DIR EN GREY has posted its video for the song "Agitated Screams of Maggots" at this location (Windows Media). The track is the title cut of the group's upcoming EP, which is due in the U.S. on January 9, 2007 as a limited-edition release sold exclusively via F.Y.E. stores. The EP will include the studio recording of the song "Agitated Screams of Maggots" as well as three cuts recorded live at the Nippon Budokan Arena in Tokyo during the summer of 2006, where the band headlined two nights at the 8,000-capacity venue. DIR EN GREY will release its new album, "The Marrow of a Bone", in Japan on February 7, 2007, to coincide with the group's 10-year anniversary and their first North American headlining tour. The album will contain 13 tracks, including the singles "Clever Sleazoid", "Ryoujoku No Ame" (also featured on the "Family Values Tour 2006" CD) and "Agitated Screams of Maggots".

Despite the fact that many of DIR EN GREY songs are heavy, agressive and full of screaming, the first pressing of the album will come with a bonus CD containing classically arranged versions of the band's songs.

DIR EN GREY made its stateside debut with a showcase at the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference in Austin, Texas in March before following it up by stops at the 800-capacity Avalon in New York and the 2,000-capacity Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles (both of which sold out within hours of being announced online). An appearance at this summer's The Family Values Tour alongside KORN, DEFTONES, STONE SOUR and FLYLEAF brought the group further acclaim, a stint which was captured for the upcoming "The Family Values Tour 2006" CD and DVD, due on December 26 via Firm Music.

The Japanese-speaking band gained its audience without singing in English, according to Billboard.com. The quintet has been building in popularity in its home country for 10 years, releasing four full-length albums through either Firewall Div or Free-Will Japan and a variety of singles and video collections.

DIR EN GREY's "Withering to Death" album was released in the U.S. in May via Warcon Enterprises.
